Hints this morning
Hello Friends,
Another beautiful morning for Sydney, but still not much in the way of waves at Dee Why – yet. As of 0800 it looked to be in the knee to maybe waist high range on sets along the beach. The point was too small to be surfed. Out at sea the swell was 1.6 metres at 10 seconds from the south (177°).
According to the Bureau’s forecast, we should see the swell start to ramp up soon as it heads toward the 3-4 metre range this afternoon. Wind should be SW at first, but a southerly is expected late this afternoon. Swell’s due to peak overnight and then to fade back over the course of the day tomorrow. And then it looks as though we’ll be back to the tiny stuff by Friday.
Next tide is the low at 0855. High will be a 1.64 at 1540. Weather is set to be sunny and getting to a high of 18C – which, according to Beachwatch, is where our water temp is currently sitting.
Stay safe folks. Maintain distance, wear your mask, and get the jab if you possibly can.
Weather Situation
The cold front that brought southwesterly winds moves further east and away from the area, winds will gradually ease and tend southerly later today as a high pressure system near the Bight extends a ridge across the state. This high will be the dominant feature as it slowly moves ease this week.
