Still big on Saturday morning

0 11

Hello Friends,

Daybreak on Saturday saw mainly clear skies and only a light 6 kt WNW breeze. Swell out at sea was 3 metres at 12 seconds from the east. Tide hit high at 0600 and will be back to low at 1215.

Bomb sets at magnets were into the 3 metre range this morning and there’s plenty of size elsewhere too. Quality is variable with some places looking very smooth and others (like Longy) were sort of lumpy and confused looking. Swell’s expected to dial back on intensity as the day goes along, but beginners should watch rather than attempt to participate. It’s definitely a know-your-limits day.

Outlook is for smaller and more approachable conditions tomorrow morning and from the look of the more optimistic modelling, we should still have fun stuff at east optimal spots on Monday. The rest of the week looks like having waves in the surfable range of some sort or other for pretty much the rest of the week.

Have fun!

Weather Situation

The low off the NSW coast will continue to weaken as it moves off to the southeast today with associated powerful easterly swell and hazardous surf conditions for the southern coast easing this afternoon. A weak ridge of high pressure will prevail during the weekend, before a vigorous cold front sweeps across NSW early in the new week, bringing south to southwesterly winds to coastal waters.
