Tuesday firing nicely

Hello Friends,
Macking swell at Dee Why this morning. Only a light WNW of 6-9 kts, while out at sea the 12 second SSE swell was averaging 3.6 metres. As you can see from the pics, the sets were solidly overhead at both the point and along the beach. Surface conditions were smooth and there were lots of folks in the water on a clear and bright autumn morning.
First tide of the day is the high at 0900. By the time it gets back to the low at 1500, the swell is set to be smaller – but probably not dramatically so.
Outlook is for smaller shoulder high-ish tomorrow, but still clean and offshore. Thursday should be okay as well according to the more hopeful predictions.

Weather Situation
Southwesterly winds will ease this morning as a high pressure system drifts across from the state. Northerly winds will develop during this afternoon as the high reaches the Tasman Sea. A cold front and associated west to southwesterly change look set to affect the southern waters on Wednesday, with a more substantial southerly change arriving with the passage of a cold front on Friday.

Southwesterly 10 to 15 knots becoming variable about 10 knots in the morning then becoming northerly 15 to 20 knots in the evening.

Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres later in the evening.

Southerly 2.5 to 3 metres, decreasing to 1.5 to 2 metres during the afternoon.
Weather
Mostly sunny.
Caution
Large and powerful surf conditions in the morning are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as crossing bars by boat and rock fishing.

Northerly 15 to 20 knots tending northwesterly early in the morning then tending westerly 10 to 15 knots in the late evening.

1 to 2 metres, decreasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the afternoon.
Swell
Southerly 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing to around 1 metre during the morning.

Mostly sunny.

West to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots tending north to northwesterly 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon then tending west to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots during the evening.

Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore.

Southerly around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the afternoon.
