Understanding your fins - part 2

Now that you’ve got a basic understanding of your board’s fins, let’s look a little deeper at the positioning of your fins and their reactance to pressure on them. Once the fin's size and placement has been decided, the shaper/designer still has more factors to consider…The Fin Cant - is the angle of the fin to the bottom of the board.  On a flat bottom board a fin that was set square to the bottom of the board would have zero cant.  Single fins and the rear thruster fins are examples of fins
