England’s new football regulator targets a review of Premier League parachute payments

January 21 – The Independent Football Regulator (IFR) in English football has said it will review parachute payments to relegated clubs as part of its upcoming State of the Game report.

The report will analyse how money moves in the top five levels of men’s professional football and will examine clubs’ financial health. The IFR claims this will be the biggest look at English football ever and has been given legal authority to mandate clubs to release financial and operational data.
