Dan Ige, Patricio Pitbull agree to fight at UFC 318
Patricio Pitbull draws Dan Ige for his second octagon appearance at UFC 318 on July 19, MMA Fighting has confirmed following a report from Leo Guimaraes.
The pay-per-view show takes place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, La., and feature a BMF title bout between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier as the headliner.
Pitbull’s long-awaited octagon debut went down in April at UFC 314, when the former two-division Bellator champion lost a decision to ex-UFC interim titleholder Yair Rodriguez.
With a pro record of 36-8, the Brazilian veteran now aims to score his first UFC victory after a victorious run as Bellator star, having won 24 of his 30 bouts in the promotion with key wins over Michael Chandler, A.J. McKee Jr., Jeremy Kennedy, Juan Archuleta, and Pat Curran.
Ige (19-9) aims to re-insert his name in the mix for a position as a top-ranked contender at featherweight with a win streak just three months after stopping Sean Woodson just hours before Rodriguez vs. Pitbull in Miami.
The 30-year-old talent, who at one point of his career was riding a six-fight winning streak in the UFC against the likes of Edson Barboza and Mirsad Bektic, has gone 4-3 since 2023. One of the setbacks was a last-minute fight with Diego Lopes at UFC 303.
