Jon Jones’ return to the octagon remains a mystery.

The UFC heavyweight champion most recently competed in November with a lopsided stoppage win over Stipe Miocic in his first title defense at UFC 309. Since then, fans have been clamoring for a unification bout with interim champ Tom Aspinall, and while UFC CEO Dana White continues to promise and almost guarantee the fight will happen, Jones has remained relatively silent about plans to put the fight together.

On Monday morning, “Bones” responded to some fans on Twitter about his fighting future, and more while visiting Thailand.

“Stripped? Lol, do I come across as the type of person who cares about things like that,” Jones said to a fan in regards to being potentially stripped of the title.

Jones then went on to say that he’s already notified the UFC with what he wants to do moving forward, and that those plans haven’t been relayed to the fanbase as of yet.

“Y’all barking up the wrong tree,” Jones wrote. “I told the UFC my plans a long time ago. I have no clue why they haven’t shared them with you guys yet.”

Jones returned from a multi-year layoff after vacating the light heavyweight title to capture his second divisional belt at UFC 285. After Francis Ngannou made the choice to leave the UFC, Jones submitted Ciryl Gane in the first round of the March 2023 bout with Gane to win the heavyweight title. Jones has only competed once since then, and it remains to be seen if he’ll face Aspinall, and where the UFC’s heavyweight division will continue to go in 2025 and beyond.
