The Chicago Bears Still Have Some Excellent Options For Day 3

0 37

Day two has come and gone for the Chicago Bears. All things considered, they did a tremendous job adding more front-line talent to the roster with new arrivals like Luther Burden, Ozzy Trapilo, and Shemar Stewart. Now comes the moment where we find out how good GM Ryan Poles and his scouts really are. Drafts can sometimes be won and lost on day three. They have picks in the 4th and 5th rounds, giving them two more realistic opportunities to land contributors. Here are some prominent names that could be of big help.

The Chicago Bears can still land one or two more good players.

Cam Skattebo (RB, Arizona State)

An absolute unit who seems to relish punishing defenders with his strength and contact balance. Creates carnage on every play, including as a pass-catcher.

Damien Martinez (RB, Miami)

A big back with bone-crunching power who supplements it with good vision to find the creases. He’s not the fastest guy, but he will need more than one tackler to stop.

Bhayshul Tuten (RB, Virginia Tech)

If the Chicago Bears want more speed, Tuten provides it. He can hit the home run. People don’t realize until it’s too late that he’s also pretty strong, both as a runner and pass protector.

Marcus Mbow (OG, Purdue)

Lacking size undoubtedly led to his fall. However, Mbow is a smart blocker with instincts and athleticism to compensate. He feels like a perfect developmental center.

Kyle Kennard (EDGE, South Carolina)

The Bears need more speed at edge rusher. Kennard has length and a great first step, which led to 11.5 sacks last season. He still needs to improve his run defense, but he’s a perfect situational rusher.

Barrett Carter (LB, Clemson)

Dennis Allen loves aggressive linebackers who can attack quarterbacks while also having the range to play coverage. Carter does both well in equal measure.

Billy Bowman Jr. (S, Oklahoma)

Teams will knock him for his smaller size and lack of power. It doesn’t matter. He has the instincts, ball skills, and range to create havoc everywhere on the field.
