Paddy Pimblett reveals over 40-pound weight gain following UFC 314 win over Michael Chandler
Paddy Pimblett isn’t changing his post-fight stripes following the biggest win of his career.
Pimblett battered and finished Michael Chandler in the third round of a five-round co-main event of UFC 314 earlier this month to improve 7-0 inside the octagon.
“The Baddy” has a reputation for putting on some extra weight after his bouts, and the aftermath of his win over Chandler is no different, revealing to UFC octagon announcer Bruce Buffer a weight gain of over 40 pounds.
“[The next day] I had about five milkshakes after the fight, literally,” Pimblett said on It’s Time. “This morning I woke up [at] like 198 [pounds], which is fat.
“That’s about the heaviest I get. I don’t really touch 200 — only if I’m in the States. That food just makes me into a machine. I’m just massive in the States, but when I’m back in the U.K., the highest I’ll reach is like 195, something like that.”
Following the win, Pimblett called for a fight with former champion Charles Oliveira as he aims to fight for the lightweight title sometime in 2026.
“I do, I want to be a world champion,” Pimblett said at the UFC 314 post-fight press conference. “I’ve always said I’m going to be a world champion, and beating a former champion like Charles Oliveira — who had two title defenses — he gets called the best submission artist the UFC’s ever seen.
“So I’d love to go up against that because I think I’ve got better submissions than Charles Oliveira.”
