UFC 313 fight card: Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev clash cancelled
The UFC 313 fight card has suffered another hit just hours before the pay-per-view card.
Promotional officials announced on Saturday that Curtis Blaydes suffered an illness, and his featured preliminary bout with Rizvan Kuniev is cancelled. It’s the second bout scratched due to illness, as John Castaneda was forced to withdraw from his bout with Chris Gutierrez.
The card is down to just 10 fights, with the flyweight bout between Joshua Van and Rei Tsuruya getting bumped up the featured prelim spot.
Blaydes looked to bounce back from a quick stoppage loss to interim heavyweight champ Tom Aspinall in his first UFC title fight this past July at UFC 304, while Kuniev was set to make his UFC debut after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series.
