Bettors fading Mac McClung's three-peat bid in 2025 NBA Slam Dunk Contest
All-Star Weekend is upon us, and that means the return of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
The defending champion, Orlando Magic guard Mac McClung, is back to try to reclaim his title and become the first player in NBA history to three-peat as slam dunk champion.
McClung enters the event as the clear favorite in a lineup featuring Bulls forward Matas Buzelis, Spurs guard Stephon Castle and Bucks guard Andre Jackson Jr.,
According to BetMGM, McClung is -200 to win the event yet again with Buzelis having the next closest odds at +450. However, bettors are a bit skeptical of McClung’s chances of pulling off the three-peat.
It seems he’s being faded. Only 11.3 percent of all bets have been placed on McClung to win compared to 34.6 percent for Buzelis and 31.1 percent for Castle. Meanwhile, only 19.3 percent of the money is on McClung while Jackson (36.3 percent and Castle (22.9 percent) lead the way in that regard.
McClung will try to prove the public wrong and Vegas right on Saturday night in San Francisco.
