FIFA orders Corinthians to pay $8.1m in outstanding transfer fees
February 5 – FIFA has ordered Corinthians to pay outstanding transfer fees of $8.1 million and slapped the club with fines over irregularities in the transfers of both Rodrigo Garro and Felix Torres.
Argentina’s Talleres believed they were entitled to receive $612,000 for operating expenses and taxes on Garro’s transfer to Corinthians, but the Brazilian club disputed the obligation to cover the amount. The disagreement caused Garro (pictured) to take a long time to settle in at Corinthians.
