For the first time in her career, Brittney Griner plans to test the free agency market.
Griner was first drafted by the Phoenix Mercury in 2013 and has spent her entire career there. Anytime free agency came up, she re-signed with Phoenix. However, per Doug Feinberg of the AP, Griner is taking meetings with multiple WNBA teams in Miami, where she’s playing in Unrivaled. “I want to show off my skills for free agency,” the All-Star center explained.
Griner hitting WNBA free agency is intriguing. She’s a 12-year veteran, 10-time WNBA All-Star and WNBA champion with a boatload of experience that could help several teams. This begs the question: where could she go?
