Jared Cannonier vs. Gregory Rodrigues announced for UFC Vegas 102 main event
Jared Cannonier is heading back to the UFC APEX.
On Monday, the UFC announced that a middleweight matchup between Cannonier and Gregory Rodrigues is set for the main event of UFC Vegas 102, which takes place Feb. 15. MMA Mania was first to report the news.
Currently ranked No. 8 in the UFC’s middleweight rankings, Cannonier (17-8) is a former middleweight title challenger who has fallen on tough times lately. The 40-year-old “Killa Gorilla” lost both of his bouts in 2024, suffering a knockout loss to Nassourdine Imavov in June and then a unanimous decision loss to Caio Borralho in August. This is Cannonier’s sixth straight main event, four of which have taken place at UFC APEX.
Rodrigues (16-5), currently unranked, has become a fan favorite due to his exciting style. Rodrigues is riding a three-fight winning streak, most recently picking up a unanimous decision win over Christian Leroy Duncan at UFC 304 this past July.
