Corey Seager ruined Framber Valdez's no-hit bid in the bottom of the ninth inning during Astros-Rangers

Houston Astros pitcher Framber Valdez got incredibly close to completing a no-hitter against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.

However, Rangers slugger Corey Seager had other plans.

Seager hammered out a two-run homer while his team had two outs in the ninth inning, ruining Valdez’s no-hitter bid with just an out left to give.

The two-run homer didn’t help the Rangers get the win, as the Astros held on for the 4-2 road win.

While the Rangers didn’t get the victory with the last-minute runs, Seager’s late offensive push affected Valdez most of all. The pitcher got painfully close to registering the elusive no-hitter just to have it collapse.

We’re sure the Astros were thrilled to get the win, but it’s got to hurt for Valdez to come so close to such a big accomplishment.

That’s the fickle nature of baseball pitching for you; one hit really can make all the difference.
