During a conversation about pet hates, Keane chimed in to say: “You know the worst one is stag and hen dos.

“People that go on hen weeks, and women that walk through the airport with ‘learner’ signs and it’s like, oh my god, really!

“And they have pictures of their boyfriend who they’re getting married to and all their friends have t-shirts.

“And men walking through the airport like, ‘we’re all going to Spain for a week!’ What are you doing?”

Keane went on to reveal that he has only ever been to one stag do.

Asked if he enjoyed his own stag, the former Man Utd man jokingly responded: “Well every week was a stag for me! I’ve been on one stag. There was no dressing up. I had a moment on a stag where I was like, ‘is this really it?’

“We’d been drinking all night, we had an early start in the morning, drinking Bacardi Breezers. Then in the afternoon we went back to the room to get changed at a hotel.

“We’d been drinking all night and all morning and thinking we should really be going to bed. I was walking past this room, it was four in the afternoon and I was struggling.

“You know when people leave their food outside their door, like room service? So I sat down and there was an old bowl of soup, so I started [mimics eating] and I had an out-of-body experience going, what am I doing?

“I went back, got changed and went back out. I just thought, is this it? Has it come to this?”

It was the latest in a string of outbursts from the former United captain after he recently took aim at the concept of shaking hands and people that park in disabled spaces when they’re not permitted to.

Keane is well known for refusing to hold back when expressing his opinions both on TV and during interviews.
