Man Utd boost as Thomas Tuchel ‘REJECTS chance to stay on at Bayern Munich’ with boss keen on Premier League return
THOMAS TUCHEL will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, despite holding talks with the club about staying this week.
The former Chelsea boss announced his departure in February after falling behind in the Bundesliga title race.
However, he engaged in new contract talks earlier this week after guiding Bayern to the Champions League semi-finals.
Reports suggested he was closing in on a new two-year deal with the German giants.
However, Tuchel has today confirmed that he WILL leave the Allianz Arena later this month.
Speaking in his pre-Hoffenheim press conference, the German manager said: “This is my last press conference as FC Bayern manager.
“There were talks, but we didn’t reach an agreement… so the decision of February still stands.”
Bayern Munich chiefs have been on the hunt for a new manager in recent months.
However, they are yet to find someone for the job.
Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick and Oliver Glasner have all rejected proposals from the club.
