Caitlin Clark's scoring prop in her debut drew more bets than any other in the WNBA, NBA

0 2

Caitlin Clark made her WNBA debut Tuesday, and it went exactly as most reasonable people would have expected. There were highs and lows, but ultimately she looked like a rookie. A talented rookie, but a rookie nonetheless.

Unfortunately, bettors aren’t reasonable people. For example, Clark has more bets and money riding on her to win MVP than any other player at DraftKings — as a rookie!

So, you just knew her Indiana Fever debut would draw plenty of losing action.

At BetMGM, Clark’s points prop was the most bet prop in the WNBA or NBA on Tuesday. And with 59% of bets on her to go over 20.5 points, the majority of those bettors sweated out an excruciating loss, as she finished with exactly 20 points against the Connecticut Sun.

I tried to tell y’all.

The hardest part about this loss is knowing Clark had 20 points with four minutes left in the fourth quarter. But she finished the game 0-for-3 to fall just short of the over. Overall, she was just 5-of-15 from the field with 10 turnovers. So there were opportunities.

The public suffered a loss on her assists prop too, as Clark finished the game with three assists after 74% of bets picked her to go over 6.5. Bettors did get one thing right, though. Clark’s four made 3-pointers cashed the 80% of bets that picked her to go over 3.5.

There will be better days ahead. For Clark, and her bettors.
