Beyonce put a new twist on Dolly Parton's Jolene, and fans loved it

Beyonce’s latest album dropped on Friday with Cowboy Carter becoming an immediate hit. The country album features 27 tracks and crosses genres into funk, pop, dance and more. Country icons like Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and Linda Martell lend their voices on tracks, with Beyonce putting her own twist on Parton’s legendary hit “Jolene.”

The 1973 song features Parton pleading with the beautiful auburn-haired and green-eyed Jolene to leave her man alone. “I’m begging of you please don’t take my man,” Parton crooned. “Please don’t take him just because you can.”

Beyonce goes a different route, using the song as a warning to the other woman. “I had to have this talk with you. ‘Cause I hate to have to act the fool. Your peace depends on how you move, Jolene.”

Fans loved it.
