Building costs on Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement home almost double to £17MILLION
BUILDING costs on Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement home have almost doubled to £17million.
The Manchester United forward, 37, had initially set aside £10million.
The home, which dad-of-five Ronaldo will share with model partner Georgina Rodriguez, is on the Portuguese Riviera[/caption]But the price has soared thanks to the cost of materials — and Ronaldo’s desire for perfection.
A well-placed source said: “He’s strived for perfection throughout his soccer career and he wants the same off the pitch.
“He wants everything just right for him and his family.
“He’s going to retire there once his career comes to an end and wants to be 100 per cent happy with it.”

The home, which dad-of-five Ronaldo will share with model partner Georgina Rodriguez, 28, is in Quinta da Marinha, on the Portuguese Riviera.
Another insider said: “The initial budget was around £10million but that is now £17million.
“He spares no effort to ensure he and his loved ones are as happy and comfortable as possible.
“There have been some changes to the original project.

“But a lot of the price hike is to do with the increase in the cost of building materials.
“Everyone knows they’ve soared. It’s a problem that’s not just affected Portugal.”
Work on the property is expected to finish late next year.

It will have an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and space in the garage for 20 cars.
It will also have two annexes so Cristiano’s mum, Dolores Aveiro, can stay.
