Man Utd transfer target Ruben Neves out until May after suffering knee ligament injury in Wolves’ loss to Leeds
MANCHESTER UNITED target Ruben Neves won’t play for Wolves again until May.
The Molineux midfielder suffered medial ligament damage to his right knee during Wolves’ home defeat by Leeds United on Friday and was forced to come off after 25 minutes.
Neves picked up an injury in the loss to Leeds[/caption]The 25-year-old travelled to Portugal ahead of their crucial World Cup play-off semi-final against Turkey but was forced to withdraw.
Although Wolves confirmed Neves will remain in Portugal to provide moral support for his team-mates, he won’t play again until May.
A club statement confirmed: “He travelled to Portugal with members of the Wolves medical team to see a knee specialist, where the injury was confirmed as uncomplicated.
“He will spend this week in Portugal with the Wolves physio before returning to continue his rehabilitation at Compton Park.

“We are hoping for Ruben to be fit to return in May.”
On the disappointment of missing out on Portugal’s play-offs, Neves said: “It’s a pity that I can’t make my contribution on the pitch at this important moment.
“I’m another one, on this side, giving all the support possible to achieve our goal. Strength Portugal.”
On a brighter note for Wolves, boss Bruno Lage has welcomed right-back Nelson Semedo and influential forward Pedro Neto back to light training during the international break.

Former Barcelona defender Semedo suffered a hamstring injury against Arsenal in February while Neto has missed Wolves’ last two games with a foot injury.
