UFC Vegas 28 medical suspensions: Alan Patrick facing six-month suspension after eye poke

Alan Patrick’s fight with Mason Jones will go down as a no-contest, but he could be feeling its effects for a while.

During a lightweight fight that Jones appeared to be winning at UFC Vegas 28 this past Saturday, Patrick suffered an eye poke two minutes into the second round. He was unable to continue, and the fight was waved off without a victor.

According to the list of medical suspensions acquired by mixedmartialarts.com, Patrick requires clearance on his left eye from an ophthalmologist due to a left eye peri-orbital laceration – or he will be suspended until Dec. 3.

Also facing potential six-month suspensions are Ilir Latifi (left eye, left elbow) and Sean Woodson (left hand, left knee). Both can see their suspensions lifted pending further examination.

Heavyweight headliners Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Augusto Sakai escaped Saturday’s card with minimal injury. Sakai, who was finished via strikes with one second remaining in round one, is suspended until July 21 due to left eye lacerations. Rozenstruik is not facing any medical suspension.

Ilir Latifi: Must receive clearance from ophthalmologist for left eye hyphema, and orthopedic doctor with positive result from MRI on left elbow or no contest until Dec. 3; minimum suspension no contest until July 6, no contact until June 27

Tanner Boser: Suspended until June 27, no contact until June 20

Muslim Salikhov: Suspended until July 21, no contact until July 6

Francisco Trinaldo: Suspended until July 21, no contact until July 6 — lip laceration

Makwan Amirkhani: Suspended until June 27, no contact until June 20

Alan Patrick: Must receive clearance from ophthalmologist for left eye peri-orbital laceration or no contest until Dec. 3; minimum suspension no contest until July 21, no contact until July 6

Tabatha Ricci: Suspended until July 21, no contact until July 6
