Video: Sean Strickland shoots down Brendan Allen rematch talk: ‘That guy’s such a douchebag’

UFC veteran Sean Strickland has a few rematches in mind, but Brendan Allen definitely isn’t one of them.

Strickland looks for his fourth straight win this Saturday when he meets Krzysztof Jotko on the main card of UFC Vegas 25 at UFC APEX in Las Vegas. His past two wins have come at 185 pounds, with both outings showcasing Strickland’s entertaining striking game.

In November, Strickland scored a second-round TKO win over Brendan Allen, who was previously unbeaten in the UFC. Allen bounced back with an ankle lock submission of Karl Roberson this past Saturday at UFC 261, and following the fight, he mentioned wanting to face Strickland again to avenge his loss.

When this callout was brought up to Strickland at a media day on Wednesday, he wasn’t hearing any of it.

“F*ck Brendan Allen,” Strickland said. “That guy’s such a douchebag. Honestly, if we could call out rematches, I have a list of guys before it it’s f*ckin’ you. Kamaru Usman, No. 1, though it ain’t gonna be at welterweight.

“Naw, man, Brendan Allen’s just such a douchebag. What did he win, with like a heel hook, a leglock? You took the coward’s way out, a submission? F*ck off, dude. Go focus on yourself. Or he’s like, ‘Oh yeah, that was lucky.’ I beat your ass for two rounds. Shut up, focus on yourself.”

With Strickland currently sitting in the No. 15 spot of the UFC’s official rankings and Allen likely somewhere in that vicinity following his recent win, it’s possible the two middleweights could cross paths again someday whether Strickland likes it or not. However, if that’s the case, Strickland only wants to see in the cage again if there’s gold on the line.

“F*ck him,” Strickland said. “I’ll tell you what Brendan Allen, we keep winning, the moment you actually get ranked again and it’s for a belt, then we’ll give you a f*cking rematch all day long. But do yourself a favor, do me a favor, and focus on yourself you f*ckin’ loser.”

Watch the video above to hear Strickland’s thoughts on his upcoming matchup with Jotko, what aspect of fighting makes him feel the most pressure, why he’s very much into social media, and more.
