JOSE MOURINHO does not expect Dele Alli to leave Tottenham before the transfer deadline.

The fallen England star has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain where his former White Hart Lane boss Mauricio Pochettino has just taken charge.

But asked if he still expects Alli to be around after the window shuts on Monday, current Spurs manager Mourinho said: “I expect.”

He added: “I’ve been saying that since the beginning of the window. I’m not expecting anyone to leave and I’m not expecting anyone to come.

“I don’t not believe anything is going to happen, but the window is still open, football is football and sometimes things happen. But I don’t expect anything to.”

Injured Alli will again be unavailable for selection when Spurs host Liverpool in a top-four clash tomorrow night.

The Premier League has tweaked the offside rule following Bernardo Silva’s controversial goal against Aston Villa earlier this month.

But Mourinho said: “I’m not happy. I believe now it’s right and previously it was not.

“But I don’t think it’s fair to change a rule during the season. It’s not fair.”

Mourinho confirmed defenders Ben Davies and Matt Doherty will both be in his squad to face Liverpool after recovering from knocks.

But the Special One teased he will be without one of his top stars who has picked up an injury.

He said: “Yeah, and we have more problems than that what I’m not going to share. You have to wait for tomorrow to find out who – but we have a little bit of more problems than that.”

Tanguy Ndombele is likely to keep his place in midfield after coming off the bench and continuing his recent resurgence by netting two late goals in Tottenham’s 4-1 FA Cup fourth-round win at Wycombe on Monday night.

Mourinho said: “It’s down to him, his responsibility. We always showed him the right way and demand a lot from him.

“If I did anything positive with him I believe it was not to play him when he was not in real conditions to play. I believe that we used some of matches last season to expose his fragilities at the time. His physical condition was not especially good as an example but always his responsibility.

“But he trains very hard, plays very hard with the ball and without it, tactically he understands what the team needs from him.

“He’s feeling great and feeling very positive. It’s his responsibility.”
