Wolverhampton tips: Racecard, analysis and preview for the feature Fillies’ Handicap on Monday

WE’RE back on the synthetics for the ‘Race of the Day’ this evening.

Wolverhampton sees a competitive fillies’ handicap take centre stage with seven horses declared.

Top weight Solar Heights certainly sets the standard on all known form, but her most recent outings suggest she is there to be shot at off these kind of marks.

She has shown all her best form at Chelmsford and while she should improve on her latest run, she again looks vulnerable.

Kwela is a consistent filly, but again she is another that looks like she may need to slip back down the weights before she wins. She could sneak another one in the not too distant future, but this is a decent race for the level.

I Love You Baby has shown very little since winning here on her debut and it’s hard to trust her here on handicap debut. An opening mark of 73 looks harsh on what she has achieved – despite a win – and unless there is market support, she can be looked over.

The two top of the list are both out of the Marco Botti yard and the main fancy is new recruit EXCEED LOOSE who was smashed at fancy prices when making his British debut last week.

Jockey David Probert takes over from a claimer and the step up in trip is just what this horse needs judged on that effort.

That was her first outing in over two months and she was not given an overly hard time.

The betting will be interesting, given how well she was backed last time out combined with the favourite being from the same yard.

Geizy Teizy won cosily enough over course and distance last time after she was switched off out the back. She has only gone up 2lbs and will certainly be competitive.

Hollie Doyle is on again and the cheekpieces stay on that worked a treat last time. She is undoubtedly the threat to the bet.

Saikung’s winless run is stacking up and the handicapper is not helping matters. She is hard to make a case for for win purposes while David Simcock’s Regal Lily is best watched on handicap debut.
