The Bengals are just one of two teams in the NFL that have yet to win a game, and they hope to pick up win number one this week at Paul Brown Stadium.

Has Minshew Mania finally slowed down? The Jaguars have lost their last two games, each by seven points, 34-27 at Carolina and 13-6 at home against the Saints. New Orleans pressured Gardner Minshew and limited him to just 169 yards, one interception, and no touchdowns for the first time in six games. Leonard Fournette carried the ball 20 times for 72 yards to bring his season total to 584 yards, third in the NFL. D.J. Chark, third in the NFL in receiving, was only able to reel in three catches for 43 yards as the Jaguars posted a season low 226 yards of total offense.

The Jags defense kept them in the game with three sacks on quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Tre Herndon and Myles Jack picked up nine and eight tackles respectively while Najee Goode added six tackles and a sack. Calais Campbell had five tackles and forced a fumble in the game. In a battle of two defenses, it was a solid showing given the fact they are without All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey, who has been sidelined since Week 3, was officially shipped to the L.A Rams this week.

The Bengals can’t seem to catch a break. Four of their games were decided by seven points or less including a 23-17 loss to the Ravens last week. That score is a little deceiving though as Baltimore had nearly twice as many total yards and twice the time of possession. Andy Dalton threw for 235 yard and one interception, as well as a rushing touchdown. All in all, the offense was pretty lackluster. Cincinnati had just 33 yards total on the ground. Auden Tate has stepped up in A.J. Green’s absence with five catches for 91 yards against the Ravens. Green, who is coming off of ankle surgery is progressing, but it is unlikely when he will return in the next few weeks.

If the Bengals want to pick up their first win, their defense will have to step up. Currently, they rank second to last in the NFL in YPG (426) and last in rush yards allowed (184.5). Leonard Fournette is having a fantastic 2019 season and is a key part in Jacksonville’s offensive attack. Lamar Jackson torched the Cincy defense to the tune of 389 yards of total offense in last week’s loss. Nick Vigil lead the team with 13 tackles. The team could be without cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick who was injured in the game. Kirkpatrick has 33 tackles and one sack this season.
