Reigns, Ambrose and Seth Rollins burst on to WWE’s main roster together and went on to become one of the greatest factions ever seen in the business, each enjoying world championship reins.

However, the former “Lunantic Fringe” left WWE in April after refusing to sign a new contract and returned as his former wrestling guise Moxley at AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view in May.

Since then he has taken several shots at Vince McMahon and his company, blasting their creative process in a series of interviews.

Rollins, the current WWE Universal Champion, hit back last week and claimed WWE as the home of the “best pro wrestling on the planet”.

Now Reigns has been given the opportunity to take aim in an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso.

But the Big Dog’s bite was a lot more toned down than Rollins’ bark.

When quizzed on his thoughts about Moxley’s remarks, Reigns said: “I don’t think our working relationship is going to be what it used to be, but I’ll always have love for that guy, he’ll always be my close friend, and I wish the best for him.

“We have a brotherhood, so I’m always cheering for him.

“I’ve shared so many great moments with Ambrose, or Mox.

“We have love for each other well beyond the wrestling, and it will always be that way.”

WWE fans can discover what else Reigns has to see about his old partner when the full interview is released in SI on Wednesday.
