Raiders’ Jon Gruden addresses Amari Cooper report

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden declined to comment directly Friday on receiver Amari Cooper’s assertion that it was Raiders owner Mark Davis’ decision to trade Cooper to Dallas in October.

But that didn’t stop Gruden from having some fun with his answer.

In responding to Cooper’s comments to Dallas media, Gruden slipped in a jab at his former ESPN colleague Stephen A. Smith, who was widely panned Thursday for a segment previewing the Chiefs-Chargers matchup that included mentions of several injured or departed players.

“I’ve read a lot and I’ve heard a lot,” Gruden said. “I’ve heard some things in the media that are absolutely hilarious, that aren’t even close. So I’m not commenting on any of that stuff.
