KSW 46 results: Mamed Khalidov retires following second loss to Tomasz Narkun

Tomasz Narkun claimed a second win over Mamed Khalidov in the main event of KSW 46 Saturday in Gliwice, Poland.

Following the fight, Khalidov, a former KSW middleweight and light heavyweight champion, announced his intention to retire.

“Before the fight I’ve made decision that in case of second loss, my time will come. I put these gloves down. Thank you for my whole career, thank you for supporting me, thank you my team, my coaches, my club, I love you. I’ve got some years on me and I think I’ll say thank you,” Khalidov told the crowd, according to Polish journalist, Bartek Stachura.

The light heavyweight champion broke Khalidov’s 20-fight unbeaten streak with KSW in their first meeting earlier this year and he was put through another hellish first round with the legend before claiming a unanimous decision win.

Khalidov sent Narkun down with a left hand in the first round after eating a stinging kick to his lead leg. The Polish goliath suffered and eye poke in the second round as he continued to chop at Khalidov’s lead leg.

Narkun scored a takedown in the final round and landed solid strikes from side control before being swept. Although he gave up top position and appeared to be exhausted, Narkun managed to attempt two armbars before the final bell.

Lightweight champion Mateusz Gamrot added KSW’s vacant featherweight title to his collection with a dominant five-round showing against fellow submission specialist Kleber Koike Erbst.

“Gamer” looked at ease in his featherweight debut, picking his shots well and shrugging off submission attempts from his counterpart. He opened up a huge cut under Erbst’s eye in the third round, with the referee stopping the action to allow doctors to take a closer look.

Erbst appeared as though he was completely out of ideas in the final round of the fight. All three judges scored every round in favor of the unbeaten Polish star.

French prospect Salahdine Parnasse had to rally after eating a strong right hand from Marcin Wrzosek to eventually claim a decision win.

Parnasse showcased some of his lesser-known grappling ability after being rattled by a right hand to get himself back in the fight. After eating another big backhand in the second, he replied with stinging uppercut that put Wrzosek down.

The 20-year-old landed the most spectacular technique of the third round when he sent Wrzosek’s mouthpiece flying with a high kick. He improved to 12-0 with the win.

Roberto Soldic banked another knockout win at a canter against Brazilian Vinicius Bohrer in their catchweight meeting.

Soldic bulldozed forward from the first bell and knocked his opponent to the ground about two minutes into the fight. He looked on the verge of stopping the fight as he landed grounded shots, but chose to stand up. Bohrer was on bought time once he got back to his feet and eventually met his demise in the final minute when he ate a powerful signature left hand from “Robocop”.

Krystian Kaszubowski got the action underway in dramatic fashion, improving to 7-0 with a devastating first-round knockout of Michal Michalski.
