Cornerback Rodgers-Cromartie adds ‘clout’ to Raiders secondary

0 4

New Raiders cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie debuted briefly Friday night against the Packers at the Coliseum, logging his first game snaps with his new team before his first full practice.

Signed Wednesday, Rodgers-Cromartie, 32, watched the first half of the Raiders’ 13-6 win and entered after halftime. He played nine defensive snaps without recording a tackle.

Rodgers-Cromartie had been a free agent since the New York Giants released him in March. Head coach Jon Gruden said the Raiders are hoping the two-time Pro Bowl selection can step in quickly.

“We’ve had a number of corners go down,” Gruden said.
