Tokyo stocks end higher on buybacks
TOKYO, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks ended higher on Friday, as selling on concerns over the ongoing conflict in the Middle East was offset by buybacks of recent decliners.
The benchmark Nikkei stock index, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average, ended up 342.78 points, or 0.62 percent, from Thursday at 55,620.84.
The broader Topix index, meanwhile, finished 14.26 points, or 0.39 percent, higher at 3,716.9
