Epilepsy cases in Ashanti rise from 2,968 to 3,321 in 2025
The Ashanti Regional Health Directorate has recorded an increase in epilepsy cases, with 3,321 cases reported in 2025 compared to 2,968 cases in 2024. In Ghana, about 1 percent of the population lives with epilepsy, while an estimated 52 million people worldwide are affected by the condition.
