Galamsey causing siltation in water bodies — Deputy Water Resources Minister
The Deputy Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, has lamented the dire impact of illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, on Ghana rsquo;s water supply. The Deputy Minister, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, noted that illegal mining continues to pose an existential threat by causing severe siltation in the country rsquo;s rivers and streams.
