The Boston Red Sox sent outfielder Wilyer Abreu to the 10-day injured list due a strained right calf on Thursday.
The open roster spot allowed Boston to call up highly touted prospect Jhostynxon 'The Password' Garcia from Triple-A.
Abreu, 26, was injured Sunday in Boston's 5-3 loss to the Miami Marlins. His move to the IL is retroactive to Monday.
