Live Updates: WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup Day 3. New Zealand, Venezuela win. South Africa up against Australia

The WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup continues on Sunday in Parana, Argentina, with six games at Nafaldo Cargnel Stadium and El Plumazo. Full info available at the tournament website.

Softball fans around the world will be able to tune in to GameTime to watch live the WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup, set to take place in Parana, Argentina, from 15-23 April. A tournament pass for $9.99 (US dollars) will give subscribers access to all 50 games of the tournament, while six-game daily passes will be available for $5.99 each day.

South Africa vs Australia

Tyler Croft doubled in the third inning, and scored with a two-out RBI single off the bat of Kiddo Malematja. South Africa is up 2-0 in the middle of the third.

South Africa grabbed a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Tsatsi Thlabanelo singled up the middle and knocked in Kiddo Malematja

Venezuela vs Israel

Both teams scored two runs in the fourth. Jose Leon with a bases-loaded walk and Angel Adames with a single produced the runs for Venezuela. Israel answered with a two-run double off the bat of Bar-Arie Shrim, to make it 4-2.

Venezuela scored twice in the first inning, after four defensive errors by the Israel defense in the top of the first.

New Zealand vs Guatemala

In the sixth inning, Te Kirika Cooper-Nicola brought in Mumu with a single to center field to make it 6-0. The Oceania team added one more in the seventh.

RBIs by Brock Evans (single), Tane Mumu (grouder), and Huw Davies (single) help New Zealand to extend the lead to 5-0 in the fourth inning.

Tane Mumu lead-off the game with a triple to right field, and scored on a grounder to second base. New Zealand lead 1-0.
