Shooting investigation underway in Opelousas; gunshot wound victim found
OPELOUSAS, LA. (KLFY) -- A shooting investigation is underway earlier this morning near the area of Plaisance Street and Lincoln Street in Opelousas, police said.
According to the police, there were multiple gunshots heard within the area around 12:47 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found an individual suffering from injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police said they are currently working to locate a white Chrysler van with chrome trimming they believed to be involved in the incident.
The identity of the victim has not been released and police are working to identity a suspect.
