Suspect arrested in connection with Louisiana Avenue drive-by shooting
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Police arrested Wendell Henry, 22, of Lafayette in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred in the 2000 block of Louisiana Avenue, officials said.
Henry was later located and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center (LPCC) on a charge of attempted first-degree murder, police said.
During the investigation, it was indicated Henry allegedly fired shots from a vehicle, striking a second vehicle on the roadway which was occupied by a 16-year-old male, police reported.
According to officials, after being struck by gunfire, the victim’s vehicle exited the roadway. The victim sustained a minor head injury and was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and later released.
