Several Dead, Including Suspect, After Austrian School Shooting
Multiple people, including students and teachers, have died following a mass shooting at a school in Austria, according to the Austria Presse Agentur (APA).

Authorities responded to a shooting at the BORG Dreischützengasse school in the city of Graz, around 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday morning. Graz’s mayor, Elke Kahr, reported that seven students were killed in the attack, along with one teacher and the suspected shooter. Police have set up a meeting area for the parents of students at the ASKÖ Stadium, a short distance from the school. Counsellors with a crisis intervention team are on site.

Initial reports indicate that the shooter, a male whose name has not been released, killed himself. Officials believe the suspect was a former student at the BORG Dreischützengasse, though no further details about the suspect or a potential motive have been released. A “major police operation” has been launched to assist in the investigation, though authorities stress that the school has been secured and that there’s no risk of further danger.
