Buffalo man charged following fatal shooting on William Street

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Buffalo man was arraigned Monday on a second-degree murder charge for fatally shooting a victim last month on William Street in Buffalo, the Erie County District Attorney's Office announced.
Officials said around 1:30 a.m. on April 19, 31-year-old Mikel Lowe intentionally shot the victim, 36-year-old Deval Watkins, with an illegal handgun on the 400 block of William Street.
He faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison if convicted of the highest charge.
Lowe was held without bail and a return date for court has not yet been scheduled.
