Lafayette woman charged in Crowley drive-by shooting
CROWLEY, La. (KLFY) -- A Lafayette woman has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in Crowley, authorities said.
Johnesha Fontenot, 18 of Lafayette is charged with eight counts of principal to attempted second degree murder in connection with an incident on Jan. 28.
Crowley Police reported a shooting in the 300 block of West Andrus in the Shady Oaks subdivision at approximately 2:15 a.m. Jan. 28. Authorities said a man was sitting in his vehicle when he was ambushed by an unidentified shooter.
Investigators said the vehicle was hit nine times, and the man was shot in the hand. The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threanening injuries, officials said.
During the course of the incident, two vehicles were struck by gunfire, and the victim's residence was also damaged. A neighboring apartment was also affected when a bullet penetrated the wall and struck the main water line, causing in the roof of the apartment to collapse, officials said.
