3 teens charged in connection to Amsterdam shooting

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The three teen suspects who were arrested in connection to a shooting in Amsterdam on Kline Street on Thursday have been charged with attempted murder. Law enforcement said the two 17 and one 16-year-old are connected to the shooting that took place around 1:10 p.m.

Police said a man sustained two gunshot wounds. It was reported that the three teen boys fled the scene. A search involving Amsterdam police, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, and New York State Police located the three suspects on Hamilton Street and the two handguns allegedly used in the shooting.

Police said other law enforcement agencies have assisted in interviewing the people involved and witnesses, as some are not from the Amsterdam area. The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center and remains in serious condition, and the investigation is ongoing.
