0 1

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A jury has issued a split verdict in the trial against the suspect accused of shooting and killing someone in Schenectady in 2016.

The Schenectady County District Attorney's Office said Camare Williams was found guilty of first degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. He was acquitted of second degree murder.

The shooting took place in March 2016 on Germania Avenue. Police said Andre Lee suffered two gunshot wounds and died at a hospital.

Williams was not charged with the shooting until 2023. He evaded law enforcement for two years and was arrested in New York City on unrelated charges.

He faces up to 25 years in prison when he's sentenced in February.
