Albany Police investigating Madison Park shooting

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department confirmed they are investigating a shooting in Madison Park near Madison Avenue and Ontario Street. The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on Saturday.
Officers arriving to the area located a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. According to police, the preliminary investigation determined that he and another person reportedly exchanged gunfire in the park, resulting in the man being struck.
The victim was tended to at the scene before being taken to Albany Medical Center, where he was last reported to be in stable condition. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Albany Police Detective Division at (518)462-8039.
