One killed in St. Martinville shooting Saturday
SAINT MARTINVILLE, La. (KLFY) -- The St. Martinville Police Department needs your help identifying a possible suspect vehicle after one person was fatally shot Saturday night, police say.
Police said the shooting was reported around 8:15 p.m. on Washington Street.
The shooting claimed the life of Javonte Anthony, police said. Responding officers found Anthony inside a residence with multiple gunshot wounds. Anthony was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.
"Currently, we do not have a solid suspect(s); however, we do have a few names to follow up on and investigate," Police Chief Rickey Martin said in a news release.
Police released an image of a vehicle that witnesses reportedly said was seen driving away from the scene of the shooting immediately after gunshots were heard by neighbors.
