Hot Shooting Mavs Even Series With Thunder With Game 2 Win

The Dallas Mavericks made 18 three-pointers and held several double digit leads on their way to a 119-110 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Thursday night in Oklahoma City.

The loss ends a five-game playoff winning streak for the Thunder, tying their second longest streak ever.

The series is tied at a game apiece after the Mavs rebounded with a strong offensive outing.

Dallas had a better shooting percentage from three-point range than from inside the arc, shooting 49 percent from three-point range and 47 percent overall.

Luka Doncic and P.J. Washington both scored 29 points, with Washington hitting seven three's and Doncic five.

Dallas started the game on a 13-2 run, then built the lead to 14 in the second quarter after a 14-2 run.

OKC responded with a 15-4 run to trim the deficit to three and the Mavs led at halftime 68-62.

The Thunder took their first lead in the third quarter after a runner by Aaron Wiggins.

Luguentz Dort hit a three-pointer moments later to put OKC up 75-72, but the Mavs answered with an 8-2 run to take the lead for good.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 33 points to lead all scorers, but he was one of just three Thunder players to score in double figures.

Jalen Williams had 20 points and Chet Holmgren 11 points.

The Thunder shot 47 percent from the field, but were just 10-for-30 from three-point range.

Kyrie Irving had nine points for Dallas and dished out 11 assists.

With the series tied 1-1, it moves to Dallas for the next two games.

Game 3 is Saturday at 2:30 pm.
