[Men's Basketball] Cold Shooting Downs Men's Basketball

Doane Men's Basketball took on No. 23 Concordia on Saturday evening, opening the 2022 slate in Seward. The Bulldogs were able to use a late scoring run to defeat the Tigers, 60-50.

Concordia held Doane scoreless over the final six minutes of play while scoring the final seven points to pull away. The Tigers were held to 33.9-percent shooting from the floor, making 5-of-22 3-point attempts while being limited to five free throw attempts, converting all of them. The Bulldogs shot 46-percent for the game, making 6-of-24 from behind the arc, and 8-of-12 at the free throw line.

Josiah Gardiner (SO/Milford, Neb.) led the Tigers with 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Alec Oberhauser (SR/Parkersburg, Iowa) added 14 points for the Tigers and a team-high seven rebounds. Anthony Laravie (SR/Omaha, Neb.) had a team-high three assists.

Concordia was led by Justin Wiersema with 14 points as four players finished in double figures.

Doane will return to the hardwood on Wednesday, January 5, as they travel to Fremont to take on Midland at 7:45 PM.
