CROYDON cop murder suspect Louis De Zoysa poses as ‘The Invisible Man’ in new snaps obtained by The Sun – as he remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The 23-year-old Brit of Sri Lankan heritage, who allegedly shot Met Police hero Sgt Matt Ratana at a south London custody suite last week, is pictured during his university days in 2016.

De Zoysa studied mechanical engineering at University College London before dropping out during his first year.

One picture shows him dressed in a shirt, tie and hat, with what appears to be a pair of tights pulled over his face – just like the character from 2020 film The Invisible Man.

The fick follows a crazed scientist who uses his power to become invisible.

Another snap shows De Zoysa pulling a “crazy” face with two female friends during a night out.

Old pals remembered him as academically gifted.

Sgt Ratana, 54, was allegedly shot dead by handcuffed suspect De Zoysa while on duty in the early hours of Friday morning.

The shooter reportedly pulled a revolver from his trousers while cuffed behind his back and fired at Sgt Ratana before two other cops jumped on him.

The gunman shot himself in the neck and remains fighting for his life in hospital under police guard four days later.

Yesterday, The Sun unearthed images of De Zoysa showing off his love of weapons as he posed with a 5ft medieval sword.

Comments in his final school yearbook described him as a “maths geek” who was “good with weapons”.

A former classmate at Roman Catholic all-boys John Fisher School in London claimed De Zoysa was once caught with a gun at school.

The ex-pupil, now 23, told the Daily Mirror: “I was told he got in trouble for bringing some kind of air gun into school.

“He didn’t show signs that he was obsessed with guns but he knew a lot.”

HERO COP SHOT DEAD

The school is only a few miles from the custody suite at Croydon, where De Zoysa is accused of killing Sgt Ratana.

It came as Sgt Ratana’s heartbroken partner of five years, Su Bushby, paid tribute to her “gentle giant” soulmate.

Police have continued to search De Zoysa’s family home in Norbury, South West London, and another property in Banstead, Surrey.

A search also took place in central London.

The Met said in a statement last night: “The suspect remains in hospital in a critical condition. Due to his condition, investigators have been unable to speak to him.

“The inquiry is being led by specialist detectives and is not a counter terrorism investigation.

“A number of officers are providing statements as witnesses as part of the post incident procedure.

“This process is being undertaken jointly with the Independent Office for Police Conduct. It will take some time to conclude.”
