Ladd-Peebles Stadium shooting – 10 teens injured after gunman opens fire in American football stadium

AT least 10 teens have been injured in a shooting at a high-school American Football game.

Shots were fired at the Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, after a game between Williamson and LeFlore schools on Friday.

Two people are being questioned in custody – but cops have not confirmed if they are the shooters.

Mobile Police Chief Lawrence Battiste said that at least 10 kids between the ages of 15 to 18 were injured during the shooting.

Five of the victims are in a critical condition.

He said the victims were transported to local hospitals. One of those injuries was the result of a seizure.

Witnesses told WKRG TV station that the game had already ended when the shots rang out.

Some believe they saw a fight break out in the stands several minutes before the end of the game.

Pictures and video show some of the players lying on the pitch and children hiding under the seats in the stands after the shots were fired.

Cops confirmed that most of the injured individuals were on the LeFlore side of the stadium.

Chief Battiste told the media: “Why are the young people bringing this type of violence to public events.

They’re bringing their beefs that they have with each other in their neighborhoods and they’re putting other people in harm’s way.”

The top cop said the suspects will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

“This is unacceptable for people to not to be able to come out and enjoy an event watching their children play at a football game and watching their children perform in the band,” he added.
