Warriors intend to fill 15th roster spot, but probably not via trade

The Warriors aren’t expected to be players before the trade deadline, but they could add someone on the buyout market.

Little more than a month ago, general manager Bob Myers said that Golden State was interested in bolstering its frontcourt with a prototypical center. Now, with DeMarcus Cousins exceeding even coaches’ expectations, it might be in the market for a wing.

If the Knicks waive shooting guard Wesley Matthews, the Warriors would be interested in potentially picking him up, a league source confirmed with The Chronicle. However, Houston, Oklahoma City, Toronto and Philadelphia are just a few of the other teams reportedly interested in Matthews.
