[Women's Basketball] Tigers pick up CCAC win over Trinity Christian

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – A slow start for Olivet Nazarene University's women's basketball team would not deter them from getting their first win in two weeks. ONU found themselves down 19-23 to Trinity Christian College (Ill.) at the end of the first quarter, the Tigers had not hit a three-pointer until there was 2:30 left in the first period. The shooting struggles continued for the Tigers in the second quarter as they missed seven shots in the paint, but they were able to take the lead behind a 12 to four run. Although TCC cut the lead to one point, some strong Tiger defense and fast break points sent the game into the half with ONU up 54-48. For the first few minutes of the third quarter, buckets were traded as neither team managed to pull away or tie up the score. Behind strong shooting and more fast break buckets, the Tiger lead ballooned to 16 heading into the final period. Once again the Tigers kept pushing the pace and getting nice shots from outside. The Tigers outscored TCC by 11 points in the final period, winning the game by a final score of 111-84.
